Did you know Gov Christie's budget calls for a 74% cut in funding to statewide library services? Did you know this means a $4.5 million loss in federal funding? And did you know that library programs have been flat funded for the last 20 years? Plus, Assemblyman John DiMaio has introduced Proposition A2555 to eliminate the minimum local funding requirement for municipal libraries. This local library funding -- less than 3% of local property taxes, may force libraries throughout NJ to close their doors for good.
